An elegant, late 18th century, Carrara and white Statuary marble chimneypiece

An elegant, well drawn Palladian style but Regency period fireplace, after Sir John Soane. From the famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, in veined Carrara and statuary marble, with tiered and moulded shelf, the frieze and jambs with horizontal and vertical finger flutes and bold statuary circular flower decorated paterae. The inset opening framed with panelled and moulded veined slabs, the whole raised on footblocks.
